Being a person that LOVES to cook my kitchen is one of my favorite places to be. I do love to cook, but I also enjoying having beautiful things to look at while I am cooking. For after all, your kitchen is so much more than a mixing bowl, right?

Let me walk you through our kitchen to show you all the things I enjoy having in the there giving me so much pleasure while the cake is rising in the oven.
Dusty Antique Store Treasure
One of my FAVORITE things to do on a Saturday morning is to grab Randy and head out to the local flea market or antique store in search of treasures.

Wandering into the back of a dusty shop we spied this wine rack. I think it is an ITALIAN piece (perfect for a wine rack ๐ฎ๐น). It holds four bottles of wine ~ plenty for a small dinner party ~ plus 6 glasses. So fun to display new wine discoveries and change out the glasses plus it is just fun to tell your guest โjust grab a glass from the rackโ.
When you find some special piece (which may be in the most unexpected place with cobwebs and all) if you love it buy it. It will bring love and loads of pleasure into your kitchen.
Dumpster Diving Wall Plaque
Never let pride deter you from diving into intriguing curbside discards. The old saying โone manโs trash is another manโs treasureโ REALLY is an old saying for a reason!

Last weekend one of my dear neighbors moved and right there on her curb were TREASURES โฆ well I rushed over, of course, and retrieved this lovely plaster cow head from the garbage man. I think it is perfect over the door between the kitchen and sitting room. So much joy and it was FREE.
Quirky Items & French Wine Decantors
I remember the first time I saw these decorative wine stoppers – a beautiful clear old timey glass door knob – and I was HOOKED. I look for them every where, the possibilities are endless.

My mother and grandmother have given me so many wonderful gifts over the years. Mom gave me this wine decanter which she bought at an antique store in the early 80โs. It is hand painted from the inside (how is this even possible ? ๐ฒ) in the classic French style. I always love seeing it in the kitchen ๐ซ๐ท.

A Big Slab of Granite – Let the Decorating Begin
If you have a newish kitchen like me (we recently downsized ๐ง) then you most likely have a big HONKER island like me. What are we doing in here operating on folks ?? ๐ง

Use this big Thang to display things that you love and that make you smile. Make it fun for you to be in the kitchen when the pots are boiling, the oven is huffing and puffing and the Dinner Party is about to happen.

I hope you have enjoyed the kitchen tour ~ seeing things that mean something to me. I love sharing these things with you because my kitchen is the heart of our home, the heart of me and of course the heart of delicious food prepared for my loved ones.
